This is a PUBLIC INFORMATION PAGE which will be update as each season arrives and when our office has important information to pass along.

> Grass cutting season is soon upon the City of Sunbury.  Please remember that the weed and plant growth can be no more than 10 inches in height.  The Code Office will only hand out one warning, after that Citations will be filed.
> This year while you are cutting the grass, please make sure that the clippings are NOT PLACED in near or around any street drains.  Also it is illegal to place grass and yard clippings in the STREET.
> The Code Office is requesting that each property owner and / or occupant of a property remove old tires from there property, and any unused item which hold water.   This could lead to standing water, which in turn could lead to bugs and other health issues.
> As a safety reminder to all Citizens,  It is soon grilling season The Code Office asks you to be careful of your grill.

Keep it a safe distance from any structure.

Use the grill only out side, Keep children and animals away from a grill while lighting, and after use.

When your have finished grilling, please make sure you turn off the gas.  Deposit any charcoal in a container, but only after it has become cool.

Make sure that all lighting equipment is kept out of reach of small children.


Swimming season is soon upon us, please check over your pool prior to usage.

Make sure that all gates around the pool are safe and will not allow any child to enter your property while you are not around.

Look over the electrical system for your pool, make sure that it is safe and in working order.

AS A REMINDER: Now is a good time for you the property owner to look over your property for damage from the past winter.  even though there was not that much snow and ice, you could still have some damage.  Here is a quick check list to follow:

> Look over the downspouts and gutters for leaks, and breaks.
> Look over your roof for brittle material, loose or even missing material.
> Look over your windows for breaks and cracks.
> It would be advisable to look over your sidewalk for cracks and breaks.          > Now is also a good time to look over your trees for limbs which over hang, bushes which block the view of traffic, or block the use of sidewalks.

PUBLIC SAFETY INFORMATION

MAKE SURE THAT ALL SMOKE DETECTORS ARE IN WORKING ORDER.  YOU SHOULD HAVE ONE (1) SMOKE DECTOR ON EACH FLOOR.  A GOOD TIP FOR BATTERY CHANGE IS: CHANGE YOUR BATTERY TWICE A YEAR WHEN THE CLOCKS ARE CHANGED.
TO ADVOID A FIRE HAZARD, PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT YOU KEEP YOUR RUBBISH CLEAND UP.
CHECK ALL EXTENSION CORDS PRIOR TO USE.  ANY CORD THAT IS FRAYED OR SPLIT PLEASE THROW IT OUT.
