Open Alcohol Container Waiver in Effect
Updated: Jun 10, 2020
On June 8, 2020, the City Council voted unanimously to waive the Open Alcohol Container Ordinance as a special exception to allow open containers of alcohol city-wide due to hardship on local business owners created by COVID-19 pandemic. Open alcohol containers in public must be in a non-glass container no larger than 24 ounces. This waiver is effective from 7 am to 11 pm beginning June 8, 2020 and expiring August 31, 2020 at 11pm. See the Council Resolution #2020-21, Open Container Waiver, here. Other laws/ordinances remain in effect and enforced such as public intoxication, drinking age, DUI, and noise.
