About S.W.E.E.P.

S.W.E.E.P. is a great opportunity to provide a safe outdoor area for the community. This project is a long term goal due to the magnitude and overall cost and will take much community involvement to occur.

The proposed Project will create a local ecological area for the public and nearby schools and provide opportunities for volunteer groups to get involved in stewardship and community Service. The park will include numerous educational signs highlighting important features throughout. Some of the features will include vegetation, environmental resources, and Sunbury and railroad history. The park provides two different ways to actively explore; the Railroad Bed Trail and Boardwalk Paths. A 300 foot long gravel trail on an existing railroad bed is proposed at minimal grade. This trail will be ADA accessible and a pedestrian will be able to walk back and forth 20 times to complete a mile. The gravel walking trail will have signage that speaks to the history of the railroad in this area for visitors to enjoy.

Project Proposal

There will be numerous educational signs highlighting important features throughout. Some of the features will include vegetation, environmental resources, and Sunbury and railroad history.
